“Blue chip” stocks are shares of large and established companies with a long operating history and an established client base. Usually, they have substantial market capitalisation and a history of financial performance.
However, note that the term “blue chip” is commonly used by investors, but it is not a formal SEBI classification of stocks. Additionally, a stock being labelled as a blue chip does not indicate that the stock is risk-free or guaranteed to generate returns.
